QPC II version 3.34
-------------------

Theoretical requirements:
  486DX-33
  8MB ram
  VGA
  Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4 SP3, 2000 or XP
  DirectX 3 or later

Recommended:
Pentium III 800 (or best processor you can get your hands on ;-)
  128MB ram
  16MB SVGA card

ATTENTION!
----------
You really need DirectX! If QPC demands the "DINPUT.DLL" you DON'T have DirectX
installed.

Limitations
-----------
As usual, the only limitation of the demo version is its unability to write to
hard or floppy disc.

Installation
------------
Run it from anywhere you want, just make sure the latest SMSQE.BIN is in the
same directory. The used SMSQE.BIN file is not compatible with v1.54 and
earlier.

Configuration
-------------
A self-explanatory dialog is now implemented for this purpose (included in
English, German and French). Just don't mess around with the priorities if you
don't need to. Country code reflects the international dialing number (1 for
USA etc.). The complete manual can be downloaded from my homepage.

Features
--------
* QL compatible SMSQ/E operating system
* Features the old QL style graphics modes (4 and 8 colours), the new 16 bit
and an Aurora compatible 8 bit colour mode.
* Can run in fullscreen mode or within a window. Switch using CTRL+SHIFT+F12.
* Does include some accelerated graphics functions for the 8 and 16bit mode.
* Mouse support.
* TCP/IP support.
* Full SER/PAR support. PAR can be conntected to a printer, but QPC does not
translate the printer data in any way. If you have a printer that doesn't
recognise any of the QL protocols like ESC/P then you can download my
printer emulator QPCPrint to use with QPC.
* Full floppy device (FLP) support. Accepts QL and PC discs.
* Full SMSQ-hard disc (WIN) support. A SMSQ-hard disc is a big container file
  on the native PC discs.
* Provides access to the native PC discs using the DOS device.
* Can synchronize the QL scrap extension and the Windows clipboard.
* Uses the PC FPU to speed up SMSQ/E floating point routines.
* Can control playing of audio CDs.

Other stuff
-----------
* QPC can be quit using CTRL+SHIFT+Scroll lock, the system menu, the context menu
on the taskbar or the QPC_EXIT SBasic command.
* You can switch between fullscreen and windowed mode with CTRL+SHIFT+F12.

Finally
-------
If you find a problem that's emulator specific or if you've wishes, suggestions
etc. don't hesitate to write me. For generic help on QL related issues there's
a mailing list with many nice people. See http://www.quanta.org.uk/mailing.htm
for more details on this.

Check out Dilwyn Jones' homepage (http://www.dilwyn.uk6.net/index.html) for
a vast collection of information and software for the QL.

Have fun,

Marcel
